I want to introduce myself to the COV community since I was asked by Nancy to blog about my experience as part of the September tour in Da Nang, Vietnam. My name is Phuong Nguyen and I became involved with COV about a year ago. I am originally from Vinh Long, Vietnam, which is in the Mekong River Delta, but grew up in southern California. I have recently lived the past 2 years in Cambridge, Massachusetts with my husband. Professionally, I am a school-based occupational therapist working with children with disabilities. I recently worked at various elementary and middle schools within Boston. I’ve recently embarked on a yearlong journey away from the US and am thrilled to have started here in my home country of Vietnam. I’m also very excited to be part of the COV team from the US and get the opportunity to witness firsthand the wonderful work that is being done to serve the people of the Da Nang region. I hope you will enjoy reading about my impressions of my experience.
