Under Huong’s leadership since 1998, COV has successfully alleviated the impact of poverty on thousands of children. She began her career with a degree from Prague University and Hanoi University in Textile Chemistry and English, respectively. She worked in the textile industry in Czechoslovakia then moved to Da Nang in 1987 where she was compelled to respond to the many needs of children in poverty first volunteering then in1996 she managed South East Asia Relief until Children of Vietnam’s founding in 1998. Her responsibilities include program development and evaluation, monitoring and approving expenditures, staff supervision, government, service provider and non-government organization relations, and compliance with COV and Vietnamese regulations.
