When their parents passed away, Tran Huu Nguyen Thang, and his older sister, Tran Ngoc Bao Han, became a family of two, orphaned and grappling with challenging circumstances. Bao Han saved her earnings and the remains of their mother’s legacy to care and provide for Thang’s schooling.
In 2022, Thang embarked on a new chapter of his life by enrolling at Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communications, specializing in Information Technology. Besides the joy of being accepted into university, the weight of paying for Thang’s education fell on his sister’s shoulders.
Recognizing Thang’s difficult situation, the Bright Scholars program of Children of Vietnam (COV) has supported him in his journey. The scholarship provided by COV has lightened the family’s load and transformed their lives. Thang shared: “I am grateful to COV for providing me with a scholarship during these challenging times. Thanks to COV, my life is no longer as burdened as before. I will always strive for excellent academic performance, using the scholarship wisely to serve my education. During this summer, I will continue working at coffee shops to earn money for daily expenses and strike a balance between work and studies.”
Thang’s story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of unwavering support. As he forges ahead in his educational pursuits, his journey serves as a reminder that in the face of adversity, hope can prevail, and dreams can be achieved through dedication and perseverance.
